UGA Cover Crop Project
On March 31st, 2021 Golden Triangle partnered with the Terrell County UGA Extension office, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, and NRCS to host a “Cover Crop Field Day”. The goal of the event was to show area farmers different options for cover crops and updates on any new advancements in soil moisture and plant management.
Soil Health Workshops
In 2019/2020, Golden Triangle hosted a Series Soil Health Lunch & Learn workshops across Southern Georgia. These workshops were made possible through sponsorship and funding provided by USDA/NRCS,
The sessions were conducted by Julie Shutters, Implementation Manager for Golden Triangle RC&D. Soil Diversity, Erosion, Compaction, Moisture, Pollinators, and Forest Health were just a few of the variety of topics covered in the class.
In 2020 the Soil Health workshops were moved online due to Covid restrictions.
