An informative look at Soil Moisture Sensors:
Through a grant from The National Resource, Conservation, and Development Council, Golden Triangle RC&D began a project to utilize soil moisture sensors in our region. Beginning in June of 2020, soil moisture sensors were placed on Historically Under-Served farms across Southwest Georgia. The first series of testing focused on crops of Peanuts, Cotton and Soy. Golden Triangle RC&D partnered with The University of Georgia Extension offices and Rad Yager of Yager Pro to provide the technical resources needed for this project. Data collected will be used to provide a base for technical training and assistance to additional farms in the area.
